Day 07:  Corvallis to Joe's Place
Saturday, April 29, 2006

Since Joe wanted to go to the spring football game at OSU today, we left early.  Lisa drove us to the edge of the Hewlett-Packard property and dropped us off, then drove back home.  It was cooler than the day before, so I wore my windbreaker.

Highway 20 plies a long, gentle curve, roughly parallel to the Willamette River, between Corvallis and Albany.  This route is lined mostly with farm fields and old ranch-style homes with grassy orchards and mature flower gardens, providing me with lots of great photo opportunities.

The distance was shorter than our targeted daily average of 9 miles since this walk would end at the bottom of the hill below Joe’s house.  We walked the last half-mile on railroad tracks until we reached the road up to his house.  We were finished by 11 a.m.
